Carlos Camacho

Registered Psychologist

Carlos began his journey in mental health in 1996, when he completed an internship at the Rivendell Adolescent Unit at Concord Hospital. He studied Psychology at UWS MacArthur, earning his qualifications in the early 1990s. Over the past three decades, Carlos has accumulated extensive experience working in private practice, as well as within the disability and youth sectors. His diverse background has enabled him to connect effectively with individuals across all ages and backgrounds. A trusted psychologist at Axiom for many years, Carlos is highly respected by both clients and colleagues alike.

In addition to his clinical work, Carlos is an accomplished author, having published several books tailored for both adults and children.  

Areas of Expertise:
Carlos specializes in assisting individuals with managing depression, anxiety, and self-esteem issues, as well as confidence-building. He also has considerable experience working with WorkCover cases. His approach is practical and compassionate, and he has a natural talent for establishing rapport—making clients feel comfortable, supported, and understood. Beyond his clinical work, Carlos founded the Pat Yourself on the Back movement, a community initiative that encourages celebrating personal achievements and milestones—reflecting his positive and empowering outlook.
